Sigismond Lasocki
Sigismond LASOCKI is a French professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care
Medicine. He is the head of Angers’ university hospital (1400 beds university
hospital) Anesthesiology & Critical Care Department since 2013.
He was awarded his medical degree and MD at the University Denis Diderot, in
Paris, France. He also passed his PhD at the INSERM in Paris. He is the scientific
chair of NATA and the elected-member of the ESAIC council for France. He is a
member of the Metabolism, Endocrinology and Nutrition (MEN) and of the
Perioperative Intensive Care (POIC) sections of the ESICM. He is a member of the
organizing committee of the SFAR congress.
His areas of expertise are anemia and iron metabolism in critically ill and
perioperative patients. He develops a Patient Blood Management program at his
institution, the OZeT program (“Objective Zero Transfusion”) and coordinated the
recent French Guidelines for anemia management in the critically ill patients.
He has published over 250 journal articles, including numerous original papers and
review articles regarding patient blood management and iron therapy. He served in
the editorial board of intensive care medicine journal and has participated in
numerous committees and scientific advisory boards. He is the investigators
coordinator of a large ongoing RCT, sponsored by the French ministry of health, the
MIVAR Trial (Milrinone Infusion for VAsospam Treatment in Subarachnoid
hemorrhage, NCT04362527), that evaluates the interest of intravenous milrinone
infusion to improve the outcome at 3 month in patients with vasospasm following
subarachnoid hemorrhage.
